COMPANY HISTORY
The founders of Parron Hall, D.R. Parron and Stanley Hall, incorporated the fledgling company on August 6, 1947. Over sixty years, multiple locations and several owners later, Parron Hall is bigger and stronger than ever.
From its original home on 7th Avenue to the corner of 2nd and "C" where the Civic Center now resides, to its long-time location at 820 West Ash Street, (pictured) for fifty-eight years Parron Hall was a well established presence in downtown San Diego. Originally A-1 Globe Flour Mill, the 820 West Ash Street location uniquely distinguished Parron Hall in the office furniture market. Although the interior of the building required extensive remodeling that attracted local dignitaries for its grand opening in 1962, the historical architecture was preserved. The building has since been designated as San Diego's 257th Historic Site.
In 2005, the wave of downtown residential development required Parron Hall to relocate to its current facility at 7700 Ronson Road in Kearny Mesa. Centrally located, the new facility positioned itself to better serve the continuing growth of San Diego County and its surrounding communities.
In 1964, Mara-Long-Marsh merged with Parron Hall. Assuming the Parron Hall name, Mara-Long- Marsh's owners L.B. Herr III and Robert Long were now partnered with Charles G. Hall, known as Skip to his friends, son of Parron Hall's founder Stanley Hall. The merger established the Herrs' interest in a company that would become an industry leader in the San Diego market.
Following the premature death of Skip Hall in 1972, L.B. Herr III acquired majority interest in Parron Hall. In 1978, Jim Herr joined the company and in 1988 assumed control from his father. Under Jim Herr's leadership, Parron Hall has grown from $6 million in annual sales to a record-setting $32.4 million in 2006 and became one of San Diego's fastest growing and largest privately owned companies.
